You cannot use SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete images from Picture Manager in Office 2003 (820699)

SYMPTOMS

When you select an image in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and then you press SHIFT+DELETE, nothing happens. However, you can select an image in Microsoft Office Picture Manage and press DELETE to delete it. Then, you must then empty the Recycle bin to permanently delete the image.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because there is no equivalent keyboard shortcut for SHIFT+DELETE to permanently delete images in Microsoft Office 2003.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior so that you so not have to empty the Recycle bin, select the images in Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then press SHIFT+DELETE.
