STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Data Discovery Manager on the SMS 2.0 SP4 child site may incorrectly set the reported length of a field in a DDR that is sent to a parent site. As a result, the SMS 2.0 SP5 parent site processes the mismatch in the DDR to be malformed and then rejects the DDR. For example, if User Discovery is turned on and if a User name is discovered that exceeds the expected maximum length of 64 characters, the SP4 child site incorrectly sets the field length value in the DDR to 64. Because the data in the field is more than the declared length of 64 characters, the SP5 site rejects the DDR.
