Some text is not visible or appears to overlap when you view a document in Reading Layout view in Word 2003 (820534)

SYMPTOMSWhen you view a Word 2003 document in Reading Layout view, some
of the text may appear to be missing or some of the text may overlap other
text.
Note To view a document in Reading Layout view,
click Reading Layout on the View
menu.CAUSEThis behavior occurs if the document contains text in
a table. Word 2003 may not be able to accurately show the text in the table when
the table extends beyond one page in Reading Layout view.WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior and view the document in
Reading Layout view, use one or both of the following methods. Method 1: Use Actual Page ModeOn the Reading Layout toolbar, click
Actual Page. Method 2: Change Compatibility SettingsTo change the compatibility settings for the document, follow
these steps:
- In Word 2003, open the document.
- On the Tools menu, click
Options.
- On the Compatibility tab, change the
Recommended options for box to Microsoft Word
2003, and then click OK.
STATUS Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
