Smart Cards Check Box Does Not Appear on the Local Resources Tab in the Remote Desktop Connection Dialog Box (820525)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Terminal Server client from Microsoft Windows Server 2003 on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer with a smart card reader, the Smart cards check box does not appear on the Local Resources tab in the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you are logged on as a domain user. If you log on to the computer as an administrator, the Smart Cards check box will appear.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
