OL2002: Outlook Quits When You Export a KMS Issued Certification Authority Certificate (819854)



The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you export a certification authority (CA) certificate from Outlook 2002 that was issued by a Key Management server (KMS), Outlook may quit unexpectedly and you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have a CA certificate with a key size of 512, you renew the certificate (without generating a new key pair), and then you receive a new CA certificate with a key size of 1024.

RESOLUTION

How to Obtain the Hotfix
