SYMPTOMS
When you run a query on an instance of SQL Server 7.0 on a computer that has SQL Server 7.0 Service Pack 4 installed, you may notice an error message that is similar to the following in the SQL Server error log:
2002-09-21 01:05:34.52 ods Error: 17803, Severity: 17, State: 14
2002-09-21 01:05:34.52 ods Insufficient memory available..
2002-09-21 01:06:11.16 ods The Scheduler 0 appears to be hung. PSS 0x00000000,

Also, you may notice an access violation with a stack dump that is similar to the following in the SQL Server error log:

RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
