FIX: New Option to Suppress All Dialog Boxes in the Windows Media Player 9 Series OCX (819756)

SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft Windows Media Player ActiveX control object model provides the Settings.enableErrorDialogs property. The purpose of this property is to enable developers to suppress all Windows Media Player dialog boxes when using the ActiveX control in a custom application. However, in versions of the Player later than version 7.0, some dialog boxes are not suppressed when enableErrorDialogs is set to False. To maintain compatibility with existing applications, a new service type that hides all dialog boxes has been added to the control.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

The following values are now available for the pbstrType parameter of the IWMPRemoteMediaServices::GetServiceType() method:

RemoteNoDialogsThe Player control is embedded in remote mode and does not display dialog boxes. Use of this value requires Windows Media Player 9 Series QFE 819756 or later.
