Windows Explorer May Not Refresh Views Correctly and Storage Cards May Not Be Mounted Correctly (819694)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE Platform Builder 4.1

SYMPTOMS

Either of the following symptoms may occur:
  • The standard shell (Windows Explorer) may not refresh its windows correctly when files are changed in one of its views. This may cause files to appear in the view window even when the file is not actually located in the file system, or files may not appear after they are created. This symptom occurs only when a drive that uses the FAT file system is mounted as the root.
  • The device may not recognize a storage card that you insert after you remove the storage card while a file on the storage card is open.

CAUSE

These problems occur because file notifications that are sent do not use the format that is expected by the standard shell (Windows Explorer). Not all cases of storage card removal are handled correctly.
