You receive the "Could not create the subweb" error message when you try to install the SharePoint Configuration Wizard (819640)

(Stswiz.exe) for use with Microsoft Project Server, you may receive the
following error message: Microsoft Project Server:
SharePoint Configuration Wizard
Could not create the
subweb. CAUSEThis behavior may occur if the Web site for Microsoft
SharePoint Team Services (for example, Default Web site) has the same TCP Port
Number as another Web site.WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, temporarily set a unique TCP
port number to your Web site for SharePoint Team Services. To do this, follow
these steps:
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
Inetmgr, and then click OK.
- Right-click your Web site (for example, Default Web site)
for SharePoint Team Services, and then click
Properties.
- In the Web Site Identification section,
change the TCP Port number to a unique number value (for example,
8080).
- Click OK to close the
Properties dialog box.
- Expand your Web site (for example, Default Web site) where
you initially tried to install SharePoint Team Services.
- Locate a folder named
MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments.
If the folder
exists, right-click the folder, and then click
Delete. - Double-click the Setup.exe file that is
located on the Project Server CD-ROM. Click the SharePoint
Configuration Wizard to provision SharePoint Team Services for Project
Server.
Note If you have previously installed SharePoint Team Services and
extended the site but not run the SharePoint Configuration Wizard, you may
receive the following error message three times:Failed to
Create Database Role. Click OK to close all error
messages. This error message occurs because the Database Role was previously
created and the wizard is trying to write the role again. - After the wizard has completed, you will receive a
confirmation screen stating the Server Name, Web Server Port, SharePoint
Administration Port, Database Server Name, and Database Name.
Make a
note of this information or take a print screen of the confirmation
screen. - Continued to connect SharePoint Team Services in Project
Web Access.
