SYMPTOMS

Programs that must keep a continuous connection to the target server may not function as expected after the client computer is upgraded to Windows 2000.

CAUSE

Windows 2000 processes the KeepConn registry value differently than Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 does. Windows 2000 permits the connection to the target server to time out.
