OL2002: Programmatically Inserted Attachment Has Blank Icon and No Caption (818581)

SYMPTOMS

If you use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros to insert attachments in a Rich Text Format (RTF) e-mail message, the icon of one of the attachments may be blank. The attachment may have no caption text.

This problem may occur in the following scenario:
  1. You use a macro to insert two or more attachments in an RTF e-mail message.
  2. You move one of the attachments to a different position in the message body.
  3. You use another VBA macro to insert another attachment.
The icon of the attachment that you insert in step 3 is blank. The icon is missing its caption text

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
