XML List Schemas and Unsynchronized Windows SharePoint Services List Changes Are Missing (818238)

SYMPTOMSWhen you use Microsoft Excel 2003, and you open a workbook that is a copy of an Excel 2003 workbook that contains an XML list, the XML mapping is missing. Additionally, when you open a workbook that is a copy of an Excel 2003 workbook that contains a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services list, the pending changes from the Windows SharePoint Services list are missing. CAUSEThis problem may occur when the original workbook has been opened as read-only in Microsoft Excel 2002, and then a copy of the workbook has been saved. This behavior does not occur if the workbook is opened exclusively in Excel 2002.STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
