"%%BeginFeature" Error Message When You Open a Publisher 2003 PostScript File in TrapWise (818147)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Publisher 2003
- Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 with Digital Image Pro
SYMPTOMSWhen you try to open a PostScript file created by Microsoft
Office Publisher 2003 in ScenicSoft TrapWise 3.5.x, you receive an error
message that is similar to: Cannot open file "filename"
at or near character nnnnn ; file contains printer-specific information.
TrapWise cannot remove or replace this information when printing.
"%%BeginFeature:" This error message occurs in both the Microsoft
Windows and Apple Macintosh versions of TrapWise. CAUSEThis issue occurs because PostScript files created by
Publisher 2003 contain PostScript features that TrapWise does not support.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, you must convert the PostScript file
to an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file. You can use a PDF distilling
program such as Adobe Acrobat Distiller or Global Graphics Jaws PDF Creator to
do this. You can then open this PDF file without receiving the error message
that is listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article.MORE INFORMATION
