XCON: You Cannot Send an E-Mail That Has More Than 800 Attachments Through the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Novell GroupWise (818059)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to send an e-mail message that has 800 to 1,024 attachments through the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Novell GroupWise, the Connector for Novell GroupWise may stop responding. The e-mail message may not be processed, and other e-mail messages may back up behind this e-mail message in the queue.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, divide the attachments into smaller groups, and then send each group of attachments in a separate message. Sending multiple messages with smaller numbers of attachments per message also decreases the time that it takes to process and to send the attachments.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
