FIX: 5250 Client Displays ~ and } Incorrectly When Using Chinese Code Page (818049)
The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMSThe 5250 Client (Win5250.exe) displays the following
characters incorrectly when configured to use a Host Code Page
of Chinese (935):
- A ~ (tilde) is incorrectly displayed
as a } (right brace).
- A } (right brace) is incorrectly
displayed as a | (vertical bar).
CAUSEThe Simplified Chinese (PRC) single-byte translation table
(Snasbcs.tbl) contains incorrect character code mappings for the
~ (tilde) and } (right brace)
characters.RESOLUTIONService pack information To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000. attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and
times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you
view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the
difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab
in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
