Error Message: "A Required .dll File C:\Windows\System\Imagehlp.dll Was Not Found" When You Try to Start Combat Flight Simulator on a Windows 98-Based Computer (817493)

- Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition
SYMPTOMSWhen you try to start Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 on
a Microsoft Windows 98-based computer, you may receive an error message similar
to the following: A required .dll file
C:\Windows\System\Imagehlp.dll was not found. CAUSEThis issue may occur when the Imagehlp.dll file is corrupted
or damaged.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use the System File Checker utility
to extract a new copy of the Imagehlp.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
sfc, and then click OK.
- Click Extract one file from installation
disk.
- In the Specify the system file you would like to
restore box, type Imagehlp.dll, and then click
Start.
- Insert your Windows 98 CD-ROM, and then locate the
following path in the Restore From box, where
CD-ROM drive is the letter label of your CD-ROM
drive.
- In the Save File In box, locate
C:\Windows\System, and then click
OK.
- If you are prompted to back up the file, click
Yes and then, follow the instructions on the screen to extract
the file.
