CD audio tracks do not play as you expect in PowerPoint 2003 (817102)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
SYMPTOMSAfter you insert a CD audio track in your presentation, the
times for each track and the tracks themselves may not correspond to the actual
time and tracks on the audio CD. Also, the tracks may not play according to the
settings you gave them in the CD Audio Options dialog box.
This symptom occurs if you have Microsoft Windows Media Player version 7.0
installed on your computer. CAUSEThis problem occurs because Windows Media Player 7.0 does
not allow other programs to access playlists or build playlists dynamically for
CD audio tracks. Because of this, PowerPoint uses the Windows Media Control
Interface (MCI) to access the CD audio tracks . MCI does not have the same
capabilities as Windows Media Player for CD audio playback.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, upgrade to the most current version
of Windows Media Player. For information about how to do so, visit the
following Microsoft Windows Media Web site: STATUS Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
