"Can not find script file" error message when you try to install Office 2003 (816950)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install Microsoft Office 2003, setup fails
with an error message similar to one of the following: Can
not find script file path\Scripts\Irm-v2.vbs. When you click OK
to clear the error message, you also receive the following error
message: Can not find script file path\Scripts\Offverlog.vbs. CAUSEThis problem may occur if you try to install Office 2003 to
a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path (for example,
\\server\share) or to a
mapped drive that is not an internal hard disk.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, install Office 2003 to a mapped
drive (for example, Z:\Office).STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
