Macromedia ColdFusion Server Setup Does Not Detect IIS 6.0 (816718)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Macromedia ColdFusion Server Enterprise Edition 5.0 on a Windows Server 2003-based computer, the Macromedia ColdFusion Setup program does not detect Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 on the same computer. Macromedia ColdFusion Setup lists only Other Server in the Web Server Selection window.

RESOLUTION

To install Macromedia ColdFusion Server for use with IIS 6.0 on a Windows Server 2003-based computer, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that IIS 6.0 is installed and running on your Windows Server 2003-based computer.
  2. Start the Macromedia ColdFusion Setup program.
  3. Click Next to accept the default extraction path.
  4. Click Next on the Welcome screen.
  5. Click Yes when you are prompted to accept the license agreement, and then click Yes to continue.
  6. If ColdFusion Setup does not detect IIS 6.0 on the Windows Server 2003-based computer, the Webroot directory displays only the drive letter of your installation drive. Click Browse to locate Inetpub.
  7. Click wwwroot, click OK, and then click Next.
  8. Click Documentation and Examples, and then click Next.
  9. Type a password, and then confirm the password. Click to select the Use the same password for all options check box.
  10. Click Next, and then click OK. Macromedia ColdFusion Setup starts.
  11. At the end of the setup process, click Finish to restart your computer.
  12. Log on to the computer by using your administrator account.
  13. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Computer Management.
  14. Expand Services and Applications.
  15. Expand Internet Information Services.
  16. Right-click Web Sites, and then click Properties.
  17. Click the Home Directory tab, and then click Configuration.
  18. Click the Mappings tab, click .cfm and .dbm, and then click Remove.
  19. Click Add.
  20. Click Browse, and then locate the folder that contains Macromedia ColdFusion.
  21. Locate the cfusion\BIN\iscf.dll file, and then click Open.
  22. In the Extension text box, type .cfm.
  23. Click Script Engine, and then click OK.
  24. Repeat steps 20 through 23, but substitute .dbm for the extension.
  25. Click OK to save your changes.
  26. Click OK again without selecting any options, and then click OK in the Web Site Properties dialog box.
  27. Restart the computer.
  28. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
  29. Expand Services and Applications.
  30. Right-click Internet Information Services, and then click Security.
  31. Click Next.
  32. Click Next to accept the default settings.
  33. Scroll down the list, and then click Enable drive:\CFusion\BIN\ISCF.DLL, where drive is the drive where ColdFusion is installed.
  34. Click Next, and then click Finish.
