Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix.

Configure the registry
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. After you apply this hotfix, you must configure the following Windows Registry key to enable the version of IGMP support that you want.
Follow these steps, and then quit Registry Editor:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type IGMPVersion, and then press ENTER.
- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
- Type 3, and then click OK.
