"Errors Occurred While Windows Was Synchronizing Your Data" Error Message Appears When You Try to Synchronizing Offline Files (815045)

SYMPTOMSAfter you have worked with Offline Files and have added lots
of data or after you have set up a Folder Redirection (for example, a
redirected My Documents folder), you may receive the following error message
during the subsequent synchronization process: Window
Title: Synchronization Complete Errors occurred while Windows was
synchronizing your data. The following error message may appear on the
Results tab: Offline Files
('\\server\share' on
server): Unable to connect to
'\\server\share.'
The specified network name is no longer available. The following
text may appear on the Progress tab: \\server\share
on server Failed The Offline File
Status window displays the following message: You are working online on 'server', but
changes you made offline have not been synchronized. CAUSEThis problem may occur if any of the following conditions
are true:
- The server is out of disk space for synchronizing offline
files. By default, disk space for automatically cached files is limited to 10
percent of the system disk. If you do not configure the Default cache size policy setting, the default is used.
- There is a timing issue that occurs when Offline Files
components (Cscui.dll, Cscdll.dll) interact with the redirector (Mrxsmb.sys,
Rdbss.sys).
- Server message block (SMB) communication has stopped
because of server resource problems.
RESOLUTIONWindows 2000Service Pack InformationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service
pack for Microsoft Windows 2000. For additional information, click the

Hotfix Information A supported hotfix is now available from
Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in
this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific

Some Files and Folders That Are Not Configured to Be Made Available Offline Are Cached
