PPT2002: Fill Patterns Do Not Print When You Use the Brother HL-2400C PostScript Printer (815002)

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Brother HL-2400C PostScript laser printer to print a presentation, objects that contain a fill pattern may not print as they appear on the screen.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if either of the following is true:

The Brother HL-2400C printer uses a PostScript Level 2 emulator to process PostScript print files.
PowerPoint uses small bitmap graphics to produce the fill pattern.

When you print, PowerPoint scales the size of the pattern bitmaps to best match the printer's resolution. This can overload the PostScript emulator, and the fill pattern does not print.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, install the Brother HL-2400C PCL printer driver. To download the latest version of this printer driver, visit the following Brother Web site:
