PPT2002: When You Print an Edited Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) Picture on a PostScript Printer, the Changes Do Not Print (815000)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
SYMPTOMSWhen you print a slide that contains an edited Encapsulated
PostScript (EPS) graphic on a PostScript printer, the changes to the graphic do
not print.CAUSEWhen you change an EPS graphic, you change a preview image
but not the actual EPS file. When PowerPoint prints an EPS graphic, the EPS
file data is sent to the printer. The changes that you make to the preview
image on the slide are ignored.WORKAROUNDTo edit and make changes to an EPS graphic and have those
changes print, convert the graphic to an Enhanced Metafile (EMF) image. To do
so, follow these steps:
- Click the EPS graphic.
- Click Edit, and then click
Cut.
- Click Edit, and then click Paste
Special.
- Click Picture (Enhanced Metafile), and
then click OK.
If you want to make substantial changes to the graphic, paste
the image as an Office Drawing Object instead. By doing so, you can ungroup the
drawing and make changes to each individual component. To ungroup the drawing,
right-click the drawing object, point to Group, and then click
Ungroup.
