SYMPTOMSWhen you try to use Microsoft Visual Studio
.NET or Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 on a computer that has McAfee VirusScan antivirus software enabled, you may notice one or more of the following behaviors:
CAUSEThis occurs because an antivirus program or a
firewall program is running during the installation of Visual Studio .NET or of Visual Studio 2005. Visual Studio .NET or Visual Studio 2005 Setup has custom actions in VBScript that stop responding or
cause problems if you have antivirus script blockers such as those in an
antivirus program or a firewall program turned on.RESOLUTIONMcAfee Antivirus HAWK Script Stopper software may cause the
behaviors that are listed in the "Symptoms" section. If the McAfee Antivirus
HAWK Script Stopper software is enabled, follow these steps to disable it:
- Start MacAfee VirusScan, and then click Configure
automatic protection settings in the left pane.
- Click to clear the Enable HAWK Script Stopper check box, and then click
Apply.
