You receive an "invalid command line option" error message when you try to install Visual SourceSafe 6.0c (814711)

SYMPTOMSIf you set the TEMP environment variable and the TMP environment variable to the short
file name format (example: C:\DOCUME~1\TESTTE~1), and you try to install
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0c on your computer, you may receive the following error message and the installation will not succeed: This is an
invalid command line option: Settings\Test Temp
Directory\vs60wiz.exe WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, set the TEMP environment variable and the TMP environment variable to the long file name format. In the long file name format, the file name that appears in the example in the "Symptoms" section will appear as follows: C:\Documents and Settings\Test Temp Directory STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in Visual SourceSafe 6.0c.
