MOM Server Is Unstable After You Install Office XP (814626)
The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS After you install Microsoft Office XP onto a Microsoft
Operations Manager (MOM) server, any of the following symptoms may occur:
- You may receive many "Access Denied" error
messages.
- The OnePoint service does not stay in a
Started state for more than 90-120 seconds. The OnePoint
service may log error message 7031 or error message 7011 in the Application
Event Viewer.
- The MOM console or MOM server may stop
responding.
- The following events may be logged in the Application Event
Viewer (Event ID 7031):
The OnePoint service terminated
unexpectedly. It has done this XX time(s). The following corrective action will
be taken in XXXX milliseconds: No action. or (Event ID 7011):Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response
from the service. - Access violations may occur when MOM tries Messaging
Application Programming Interface (MAPI) mail responses.
- Only the following two events are logged to the All
Windows NT Events container. Other events are no longer recorded.

CAUSE This problem occurs because of a problem in the Microsoft

with Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove
Programs.
- Select Microsoft Office XP, and then click
Remove.
- Insert your Office 2000 CD.
- Apply the latest Service Pack for Office 2000.
