Error Message: The Requested Property Value Is Empty (0x80094004) (814434)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to view the properties of the
Events node in the Microsoft Application Center 2000 Microsoft
Management Console (MMC), you receive the following error message: A
request to read or write properties was unsuccessful. Click cancel to close the properties dialog box. The requested property
value is empty (0x80094004)
A DBMon trace of the problem
shows the following: 1064: 3188, AsaiRoot,
appsrvobjimpl.cpp, (1403), [14:54:58] [0x80094004] CAppSrvObjImpl::get_Values
failed on AssignOut ACSEventLogFilter 2092: 848, ACSnap.dll,

CAUSEThis problem may occur if the Application Center log
consumer COM+ application is either missing or corrupt.RESOLUTIONTo resolve the problem, re-create the Application Center log
consumer application. If the application is still present in Component
Services, remove and then re-create the application. To remove the
Application Center log consumer application, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click
Programs.
- Select
Administrative
Tools
- Click Component Services.
- Expand Component Services, expand
Computers , expand My Computer, and then
expand COM+ Applications.
- Right-click
AC
Log Consumer, and then
click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click to clear the Disable Deletion check
box, and then click OK.
- Right-click AC Log Consumer, and then
click Delete.
- When you receive the Confirm Item Delete
dialog box, click Yes.
- Refresh Component Services to confirm that AC Log
Consumer has been removed.
After you remove the Application Center log consumer application
from Component Services, re-create it:
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
cmd.
- At the command prompt, change to the Application Center
2000 installation folder. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Application Center.
- At the command prompt, type the following, and then click OK:

lcsetup.exe -install logcons.dll - Open Component Services.
- Refresh the list of Microsoft COM+ applications, and confirm that
AC Log Consumer is again listed.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.MORE INFORMATIONWhen the properties of the Events node in Application
Center 2000 are opened, the Application Center Log Consumer application is
queried for information. The query is not successful if the application is either
missing or corrupted, and the you cannot see or reset the properties of the Events node.
