Session Summary



In this session, we will provide an overview of Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), and outline the new features available for imaging devices, such as scanners and cameras that use WIA device drivers. We will discuss how to tell the difference between a WIA device driver, a Still Image Architecture device driver, and TWAIN-only device driver. Windows Me includes a list of supported scanners and cameras and we will tell you where to find that list.

This is a Level 100 session that was recorded November 3, 2000 and presented by David Pharr. David Pharr joined Microsoft Product Support Services as a Windows NT Workstation version 4.0 support professional in March 1997. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania and is a Microsoft Certified Professional. David served as the Windows Millennium Edition beta support contact for Windows Image Acquisition and currently works for Product Support Services as an escalation support professional for Windows Millennium Edition.
