Incorrect Product ID when you try to register Streets and Trips (814147)

SUMMARY

When you try to register Microsoft Streets and Trips, you may receive a message that states that your Product ID (PID) number is not valid.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you use the Product Key that is listed on the product package, instead of the Product ID.

RESOLUTION

To obtain the Product ID and to register the product, follow these steps:
  1. Start Streets and Trips.
  2. Click Help, and then click About Microsoft Streets and Trips.
  3. Note the 20-digit character Product ID that is listed under This product is licensed to, and then close the dialog box.
  4. Click Help, and then click Register Streets and Trips.
  5. Click Register now, and then follow the instructions that appear on the screen to register the product. When you are prompted for the Product ID, type the 20-character Product ID from step 3.
