XADM: Information Store Stops Responding After You Upgrade the Access Control List (814075)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade the access control list (ACL) of mailboxes and public folders from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange 2000 Server, you may find that zombie user accounts (user accounts that are not represented in the Microsoft Active Directory directory service) may cause the Information Store service (Store.exe) to stop responding (crash). Additionally, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
  • CPU usage increases to 100 percent.
  • An event ID 9551 warning message is not logged to the application event log when a zombie user account exists.
