SYMPTOMS

When you are editing a document in a program that uses the Rich Edit control, the tabs may be misaligned. For example, if there is a right-aligned tab or a center-aligned tab on a line, you cannot use another left-aligned tab correctly on the same line.

CAUSE

With the Rich Edit control version 4.1 and earlier, the \txN token does not reset the tab type, and the \tql token (a left-aligned tab) is ignored. After a \tqr token (a right-aligned tab) or a \tqc token (a center-aligned tab) occurs, you cannot use a left-aligned tab on the same line.
