Windows Media Player 9 Codec May Not Play Back Video Stream with Broadcast Quality in an Auto-Start Broadcast Publishing Point (813405)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows 2000
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows 98 Second Edition
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows Millennium Edition
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows XP
SYMPTOMSAfter you encode a video stream to an auto-start broadcast
publishing point, a virtual directory for delivering live stream media, the
Windows Media Player 9 codec may not play back the video stream in broadcast
quality.CAUSEThis problem may occur if the codec intermittently outputs
the video stream with a less than broadcast-quality frame rate. For example,
the codec that uncompresses the video stream may output a frame every two
seconds which causes a choppy appearance to the video stream.STATUS Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
