Windows Media Encoder 9: Video Stream Ends Before Other Media Streams (813341)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 9 Series
SYMPTOMSWhen you play back a movie that you recorded by using
Windows Media Encoder 9, the video or the audio stream may end before the other
the media stream has ended.CAUSEThis issue may occur if you stop Windows Media Encoder 9
before the transcoding from one file to another file is complete.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, let the transcoding from one file to
the other file finish completely. The file that has finished completely is now
synchronized and can be edited to a shorter length through any video editing
software.MORE INFORMATIONWhen Windows Media Encoder 9 performs a file to file
transcode, it does so in an unsynchronized mode. This means that one media
stream may lag behind other media streams, then the stream that is behind
catches up with the other streams. The difference between two streams can be as
much as three seconds.
