An LU3 print job may appear redirected to multiple printers (812947)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000
- Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 SP1
SYMPTOMSAn LU3 print job may appear redirected to multiple printers
when you use Host Integration Server 2000. The same print job prints correctly
when you use Microsoft SNA Server 4.0 or SNA Server 3.0.CAUSEThe print server of the Host Integration Server 2000 is not
keeping the screen and the attribute buffers between brackets in LU3 sessions.
Data from previous brackets may be printed in the next bracket if an ERASE/WRITE command is not issued. When there are multiple sessions, the data
and the attribute buffers may become reassigned to different sessions when the
brackets are reopened. Data may become mixed between the sessions. A later
print job may reuse the buffer. Depending on the data stream from the
mainframe, the data in the buffer may not be cleared. This causes the stored
data in the buffer to print on the second printer. RESOLUTIONService pack information
