WinXP: Error Messages When You Log On to the Computer (812931)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
SYMPTOMSWhen you log on to your computer, you may receive the
following error messages: - Configuration Utility - You do not have sufficient access
rights. Administrative privileges are required.
- Configuration Utility - The installation of the Network
Agent driver has failed. Access is denied.
- Configuration Utility - Network Agent was not ready, and
could not be installed.
- Configuration Utility - Unable to connect the Network Agent
driver. Program will terminate.
CAUSEThis behavior may occur if any of the following conditions
are true:
- The computer has Windows XP Professional
installed.
- You have a Limited User account for the
computer.
- The computer has a Linksys WDT11 Wireless PCI network
adapter card installed.
- The Linksys Instant Wireless Configuration Utility is in
the Windows Startup group.
Because you have a Limited User account, you do
not have the correct permissions to change the computer's network

WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, upgrade your user account to at
least a Power User account. The permissions of a Power User account permit you
to run the Instant Wireless Configuration Utility. Ask the administrator of
your local computer to provide you the correct credentials. An administrator
can add you to the local administrators or power users group to resolve this
