You cannot access issues or documents after you apply a Microsoft Project Server 2002 hotfix (812641)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project Server 2002
SYMPTOMSAfter you apply the Project Server 2002 hotfix for 306290 or
later hotfix releases, you may no longer be able to access issues or documents
in Microsoft Project Web Access. When you try to access an issue or document,
you may receive the following error message: Microsoft
Project Web Access Documents and Issues are based on SharePoint Team Services
from Microsoft. There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web
server running SharePoint Team Services. Please contact your system
administrator. CAUSEThis problem may occur if the connection between Microsoft
Sharepoint Team Services and Project Web Access has been broken.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem:
- On the Project Server 2002 computer, click
Start, click Run, type
cmd, and then press ENTER.
- Change to the folder that contains the Proxycfg.exe file.
For example, type "cd c:\program files\microsoft project
server\bin", and then press ENTER.
- If you are in a proxy server environment, type
"proxycfg -d -p "YourProxyServer"
"<local>"" , and then press ENTER, where
YourProxyServer is your proxy server
name.
- If you are not in a proxy server environment, type
"proxycfg -d -p "proxyserver" "<local>" " , and
then press ENTER.
- If you are using a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) as
the server name for SharePoint Team Services, type your FQDN information as
follows (without the quotation marks): "proxycfg -d -p
"YourProxyServer"
"<local>;server_name.example.com""
, and then press ENTER. Information about the proxy server is
displayed.
- Restart the Project Server 2002 computer to restore the
connection between Sharepoint Team Services and Project Web Access.
STATUS Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
