MacOFFX: "Cannot Complete Installation" Error Message When You Install Value Pack (812575)

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Value Pack Installer, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot complete installation
Error Code 1008: 22, -36 I/O ERROR (Bad Disk)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download and install the Office v. X 10.1.2 update. To do so, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
