Database Grooming does not groom events that are collected from a custom NT event log (812311)

SUMMARY

After you have configured Database Grooming to groom events from a custom Windows NT event log, the custom event information is not removed from the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) database. As a result, available database space is used and is never freed. This problem can eventually cause low space issues in the MOM database.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next MOM service pack that contains this hotfix.
