WD2002: Security Warning Starting Word After You Install Microsoft Business Solutions Customer Relationship Management (812307)

SYMPTOMSAfter you install Microsoft Business Solutions Customer
Relationship Management (Microsoft CRM), and then try to start Word 2002, Word
2002 may prompt you with the following security warning: CRSmartTag.dll
contains macros by Crystal Decisions, Inc. CAUSE This problem may occur if the following conditions exist in
Word 2002:
- The Security Level has been set to High.
- SmartTags have been enabled.
Microsoft CRM uses Crystal Reports for reporting functionality.
An ActiveX Control object that is installed by Crystal Reports to provide Smart
Tag support in Word 2002 has not been explicitly trusted. As a result, Word
2002 prompts you with the security warning that is listed in the "Symptoms"
section of this article. Note This problem may also occur when you use Word 2002 as your e-mail
editor in Microsoft Outlook. RESOLUTIONTo resolve and prevent this problem, trust the macros from
this source by using one of the following methods: Method 1: Always Trust Macros from This SourceWhen Word 2002 prompts you with the security warning that is
listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article, click to select the
Always trust macros from this source check box in the
Security Warning dialog box, and then click Enable
Macros. Method 2: Trust All Installed Add-ins and TemplatesTo trust the macros that are included in the Crystal Reports Smart
Tag (ActiveX) add-in, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, point to
Macros, and then click Security.
- On the Trusted Sources tab, click to
select the Trust all installed add-ins and templates check
box.
- To close the Security dialog box, click
OK.
