Issues Fixed by the Update
The Outlook 2002 Update: January 22, 2003 fixes the issues
described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles.
330073 OL2002: Location field not populated when scheduling resource account
331483 OL2002: You Cannot Use the Quick Key Search in a Large Shared Inbox Folder
331788 OL2002: The Mso.dll File Stops Responding When You Switch Between Custom Form Messages
The update fixes the following issues that were previously
not documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
OL2002: Delegate User Who Has Full Mailbox Access Permission Cannot Recall a Message
You cannot recall a message sent by another user whose account
you are a delegate of even thought you have full permissions in the user's
mailbox.
OL2002: Encrypted Messages with HTML Bodies and V1Exchange Server Security Are Not Encrypted
When you encrypt HTML messages by using a V1 Exchange Server
Security certificate issued by the Microsoft Exchange Key Management Service
(KMS), it is possible for some messages to remain unencrypted.
OL2002: Space From IMAP User Name Is Stripped After You Configure an Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) Account
If you type a user name with a space in it when you set up an
IMAP account, the space is removed. For example if you type "John Smith,"
(without the quotation marks) the user name appears as "JohnSmith."
OL2002: Invalid Client-Side Only Rule Causes Outlook to Stop Responding
An invalid client-side only rule that points to a non-existent
Microsoft Exchange server can cause Outlook to stop responding (hang). Outlook
stops responding after it first starts, and also stops responding when the
Rules Wizard dialog box appears. In both cases, the condition
is temporary, and the client eventually continues.
OL2002: Outlook Stops Responding When You Use Forms with Calc Fields and Data
Access Objects (DAO)
Outlook may stop responding (hang) when you use forms in Outlook
that use DAO in vbscript and then access another form that uses a formula
field.
OL2002: Contact Links That Are Created by Resolving the Contact from a Public Folder Cannot Be Retrieved Programmatically
If you click the
Contacts button at the bottom of
a message that supports contact linking to create a contact link in a message,
and if the contact that you select is in a Contact folder that is in a Public
folder, you may not be able to retrieve the contact information in the contact
link programmatically if Outlook is not running.
OL2002: Reminders May Not Appear As Expected
If You Are Using Terminal Services or Have
Adjusted the Security in the Registry
Reminders may not fire reliably in one of the following
scenarios:
- In environments that use multiple Windows Terminal Server
computers that are clustered with Network Load Balancing,
- In environments that were not Windows Terminal Server and
the servers were connected using a Network Load Balancing method that was not
Windows Network Load Balancing,
- When the First-Run registry key that is stored in the HKLM is not permitted to be
updated by the user signing on to that computer.
OL2002: Korean: Extra English Is Added When You Use the Korean Global Input Method Editor (IME) to Modify an Entry in Grid View of Outlook
If you add Korean Double Byte Character Sets (DBCS) characters in
the grid view of the Contacts list and tab in a numeric field in the Korean
version of Outlook 2002, for example in the
Telephone field, English "garbage" characters may be added to the
Edit field.
OL2002: Cannot Set Memo As the Default Print Style When You Print From an IMAP Folder
When you print from an IMAP Inbox, Outlook uses the Table Style.
When you print from a Personal Folders (.pst) file or a Microsoft Exchange
Inbox, Outlook uses the Memo Style.
OL2002: Meeting Requests Are Saved to the Wrong Personal Folders Calendar
When you set your personal folder (.pst) file as the default
delivery point, and then change the delivery point to be your Exchange Server
mailbox, if you accept a meeting request that is forwarded to your .pst file,
the resulting meeting shows up in the .pst Calendar, not in the default store.
