Playing Streaming Multimedia Content May Continuously Consume Memory (812178)

SYMPTOMS

If you play one large streaming content source for a long time, you may receive the following error message:
One of the required codecs for this file is not available. Playback will continue with reduced functionality.
Playback continues after you clear this error message, but Microsoft Windows Media Player may continuously consumes memory and eventually stop the playback.

RESOLUTION

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 4.1 Core OS QFE 812178. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:
