The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service may crash when a POP3 client or an IMAP4 client tries to download a certain message from Exchange 2000 Server (812050)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

When a Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) client or an Internet Message Access Protocol, Version 4rev1 (IMAP4) client tries to download a certain message from Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service (Store.exe) may crash. Because the download cannot be completed, if the client tries to download the message again after the store has been restarted, the same crash is likely to occur again.
