MSN Bill Pay does not appear on the Bill Pay Provider menu (811994)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Money 2004 Deluxe
  • Microsoft Money 2003 Deluxe

SYMPTOMS

When you try to set up online services for MSN Bill Pay in Microsoft Money 2003 Deluxe or in Microsoft Money 2004 Deluxe, the MSN Bill Pay command may be missing from the Select the bill pay provider that you want to use menu.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you do not have an MSN Bill Pay account.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, set up an account on the MSN Bill Pay Web site. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Visit the following MSN Bill Pay Web site:

    https://billpay.msn.com/entry/welcome.asp

  2. Click Sign Up, type your Microsoft Passport Network user name and password, and then click OK.
  3. Follow the directions on page one and two of the Create Your Security Key Web pages.
  4. Sign in to MSN Bill Pay by using your new security key.
  5. On the Sign Up pages, type your personal information to create your MSN Bill Pay account.
  6. In Money, click Account List.
  7. In the Common Tasks list, click Manage Online Services.
  8. On the Select the bill pay provider that you want to use menu, click Microsoft Money Bill Pay.
  9. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to sign in to MSN Bill Pay.
