  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

When a TCP/IP message transfer agent (MTA) stack is created in Exchange 2000, if this stack is deleted from Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, it is not re-created in Exchange Server 5.5 after replication.

WORKAROUND

To workaround this problem:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Connector.
  2. Right-click Connection agreement, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Schedule tab, and then click to select the Replicate the entire directory the next time the agreement run check box.
  4. Click OK.

After you perform this procedure, force Directory Service replication in Exchange Server 5.5:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click Microsoft Exchange Administrator.
  2. Expand Exchange organization, expand Configuration, expand Servers, and then click Server.
  3. In the right pane, double-click Directory Service.
  4. Click Update Now on the General tab.
  5. Click Update only new and modified items, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
