Cannot Import Server Data Object File in MCMS 2002 (811748)

SYMPTOMS

When you import a valid server data object in Microsoft Content Mangement Server (MCMS) 2002, you may receive the following error message:
The XML parser could not parse the tag it was given.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, clear the memory cache, and then try to import the server data object again:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, click Microsoft Content Management Server, and then click Server Configuration Application.
  2. Click the Cache tab.
  3. Click Clear Memory Cache.
  4. Import the server data object again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
