XADM: Administrative Group Members of Distribution List Are Removed After You Replicate by Using Exchange 5.5 (811664)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
SYMPTOMSWhen you create a Distribution List on your mixed-mode
Exchange 2000 Server that contains administrative group members from another
Exchange 2000 Server, the administrative group members are removed from the
Distribution List after the replication process with your Exchange 5.5-based
server completes.CAUSEThis problem occurs because the ADCGlobalNames property is
not replicated when you complete an inter-site replication from the Active
Directory directory service to Exchange 5.5. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, configure all Exchange 5.5
sites and Exchange 2000 Server administrative groups with two-way connection
agreements. You can also try to consolidate all your Distribution Lists into
one administrative group, and then make sure that the administrative group is
configured for two-way replication with your Exchange 5.5 sites. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that
this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
