FIX: Events do not appear in the Properties window of Visual Studio .NET 2002 (811659)

SYMPTOMS

In Class View of the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET IDE, if you select a Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) project and then click the Events icon in the Properties window, the event list may be empty.

CAUSE

This problem is a regression in the product. This problem occurs if you have an MFC project and a Resource DLL project in the same solution.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Micorsoft Visual Studio .NET. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hotfix information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, copy the .rc file from the Resource DLL project to the MFC project.
