XADM: Mail-Enabled INetOrgPerson Object Does Not Replicate to Exchange 5.5 Directory. (811656)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
SYMPTOMS When you create a mail-enabled InetOrgPerson object, the object is not replicated by the Active Directory
Connector (ADC) to the Exchange Server 5.5 directory. STATUS Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
CAUSE This issue occurs because mail-enabled InetOrgPerson objects are not supported in Exchange mixed mode. MORE INFORMATIONActive Directory provides support for the InetOrgPerson object class and its associated attributes, as defined in Request
for Comments (RFC) 2798. The InetOrgPerson object class is used in several non-Microsoft Lightweight
Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and X.500 directory services to represent
