REHTMLPackager.dll Filter May Slow Down File Transfer (811516)

SYMPTOMS

The Resolution HTML Packager (REHTMLPackager.dll) filter may cause performance issues when you upload binary files to or download binary files from a Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) server. This performance impact also occurs on Web sites that MCMS does not manage on the MCMS server.

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Content Management Server 2002. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hotfix information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

To install this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Shut down IIS.
  2. Backup and then rename Rehtmlpackager.dll.
  3. Copy the new Rehtmlpackager.dll to the same location.

    The DLL is located in CMS install directory\Server\bin\.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this Is a problem In the Microsoft products that are listed In the "Applies To" section. This problem was corrected in Content Management Server 2002 Service Pack 1.
