Cannot Read Signed or Encrypted Mail If the "Read All Messages in Plain Text" Option Is On (811337)

SYMPTOMS

If you turn on the Read all messages in plain text option, you cannot read signed or encrypted mail.

CAUSE

When you turn on this option, Microsoft Outlook Express converts HTML mail to plain text mail. However, it converts warning HTML message by mistake, too.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 6 service pack that contains this fix.
